No Q
Sorry but the Hawaiian language is made up of only 12 letters.Which means there are no words beginning with the letter Q.
The letters they use are:
A,E,I,O,U,H,K,L,M,N,P and W but I'll try and write meaningful posts all the way to the end of the challenge.
Can you imagine Shakespeare using only 12 letters?
No Q? Or half the letters? Does that make the language easier or harder to learn?
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you'll be able to work your way through, even though you're down to one last letter in the local alphabet!
ReplyDeleteI thought Hawaiian had 13 letters. Either way, that's not a lot of letters to work with. At the other end of the extreme is Chinese, with all those thousands of characters.
ReplyDeleteSo interesting. I learn something new everyday with your blog.
ReplyDeletecheers, parsnip
This has been very entertaining, Eve--thank you!
ReplyDeleteAnd thus, human Eve, right on "Q", I shall not comment.
ReplyDeletePawsitive wishes,
Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet superstar! :)
Twelve letters? Wow!
ReplyDeleteQ is a tough letter even for English but he was fun to watch on Star Trek.
