"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek,
and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.-Matthew-7:7
Dare to ask.
He’s busy but listening.
Go ahead and do it.
Don’t worry about kneeling
He knows what’s in your heart.
He knows what you want--
but...
prefers
your humble request.
When you ask,
you confirm
wishes and hidden desires.
Possibly uncovering dreams,
goals and potentialities.
The process of asking clarifies things--
not for Him--
but for you.
Don’t beg.
Some things take time.
His time.
Are you sure,
it’s what you want?
Then ask,
wait
and receive.
This poem needed to be written because I knew someone who
died without ever experiencing love. This person didn’t have a regular paying job
and always wanted children but felt shy meeting girls. He was a good person who committed his life to
helping his aging parents as a caregiver and live-in handyman. This person
dreamed of so many things that never came true. I remember telling him to ask
God for help and he told me he didn’t want to waste God’s time. As a very
humble and insecure person, he thought God was too busy to listen to his
problems. If there’s one thing, I’m confident about, it’s the fact that He
listens. If you know anyone who is struggling, please remind him or her to ask...before it’s too late.
God cares about the smallest creature on earth. How much more then must He care for his children.
ReplyDeleteVery sorry he never believed God would listen. God wants nothing more than to have a relationship with us, which means we need to talk to Him.
A very good poem, Eve. Thank you for sharing it.
ReplyDeleteI had to wait to comment.
ReplyDeleteI have tears in my eyes.
What a beautiful sad poem.
So sorry for your friend.
Love your sunset photo.
cheers, parsnip
I echo Alex's comment. The photo is captivating.
ReplyDeleteAw...this is so sweet. God is never too busy and neither should we.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful, Eve!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. So true and so often neglected. I can't help but think God is fulfilling his dreams now.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this reminder, Eve. It is so true. It is easier to think of God being inside each of us just waiting for us to act. Simply giving oneself permission to move forward with something can give us the strength and courage to do it.
ReplyDeleteI used to wait for a sign or some kind of permission from the next guy, whether it was someone I felt was in a higher position than me or stronger than me or more courageous than me. Then I realized that the people getting what they want were none of those things. I was better than that, and once I realized that, I was like, "Dude, move out of my way, I got shit to do!"
Dear Eve, I found this post incredibly touching – thank you for the reminder. I feel so sad for your friend, but I’m sure his prayers will be answered, even though he never asked them.
ReplyDeleteThat's really so sad...to feel unworthy. I hope more people stop to really ask, with their whole heart, just ask. Make than intention real.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, oh yes....HE DOES LISTEN! The struggle within the human heart, mind, spirit is a very dangerous one. Evil and goodness always face to face, and we are the ones responsible to put an end to the fight, but some people unfortunately don't have that chance...I am so sorry to hear about this person.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for coming to visit my blog. Anita
